soat 3d

why do we customise things?
project overview
SOAT3D is an Italian company specializing in custom 3D-printed components for motorcycles and automotive applications.
As the brand evolved, it needed an identity capable of reflecting the values behind customization: individuality, performance, and passion for craftsmanship.
Our goal was to create a visual system that felt as precise as engineering and as personal as the riders build around themselves.

challenge
3D printing companies often communicate through technology alone. But technology isn't what riders connect with.
People customize their motorcycles for three reasons: To express their individuality, To gain performance advantages, To celebrate craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The challenge was to move SOAT3D away from the generic "tech company" category and build a brand rooted in emotion, identity, and passion.
approach
We started with a simple question: Why do we customize our motorcycles?
The answer became the foundation of the entire identity. Rather than focusing on the printing process itself, we focused on what customization means to the people who do it.
This led to the brand idea: Your style takes shape.
Visually, the system was inspired by four concepts: Layering - Sculpting - Shaping - Styling.
Principles that naturally connect additive manufacturing with the world of personal expression.
brand strategy & positioning.
Before designing the identity, we explored the motivations behind motorcycle: customization, Identity, Performance, Passion.
These three pillars became the foundation of the brand.

A Symbol Built For Three Dimensions.
The logo centers around a stylized "S" that feels sculpted rather than drawn.
Minimal and bold, the symbol was designed with physicality in mind, capable of living not only on screens but also engraved, embossed, printed and manufactured.

a dynamic identity.
Since 3D printing transforms materials into forms, we extended the logo into a dynamic system.
The "S" can evolve through different textures and materials, Turning the identity itself into an ever-changing object.
